time for some thrilling heroics

Unlike the beautiful 6-year old Jonbenett Ramsey who received coverage all over the media - every tabloid, newspaper, news channel, talk show, 7-year old Aiyana Stanley was killed by a police officer during a raid while she was sleep and her murder received very little coverage.
Police, searching for a murder suspect, threw a flash grenade through the window of her family’s apartment around midnight. According to Aiyana’s father, it landed on the couch, setting Aiyana on fire. A police officer’s gun then went off, and shot Aiyana in the neck.
Aiyana was asleep on the living room sofa in her family’s apartment when Detroit police, searching for a homicide suspect, burst in and an officer’s gun went off, fatally striking the girl in the neck, family members said.
Her father, 25-year-old Charles Jones, told The Detroit News he had just gone to bed early Sunday after covering his daughter with her favorite blanket when he heard a flash grenade followed by a gunshot. When he rushed into the living room, he said, police forced him to lie on the ground, with his face in his daughter’s blood.
“I’ll never be the same. That’s my only daughter,” Jones told.
We haven’t forgotten about you baby. R.I.P.

My friend Drew could really use some help right now, guys. His family is going through a whole lot.
Copied from the donate website:
My name is Elizabeth Brown. The lady in the is my great aunt, Barbara Eilar. She is suffering from severe Alzheimer’s, and requires constant attention. My Aunt Bobby no longer walks, speaks, or eats anything other than baby food. She has acquired injuries because she cannot sit in a chair properly, and bedsores because she is so tiny. Her rapidly deteriorating health has forced my mother, her caregiver, to give up searching for a job; Aunt Bobby must be moved every hour or so, and she must stay hydrated to avoid more trips to the hospital for fluids. My mother is also the caregiver of my 90 year old grandmother, who is in danger of falling at any given time due to a bad hip. My mother has acquired injuries in the past, from an abusive ex-husband and a faulty fire extinguisher falling on her neck; she has limited use of her left arm and has probably permanently lost feeling in three fingers on her right hand. She cannot afford insurance for herself, so she is unable to see a physician to get checked out. Her family has serious concerns that she is going to have a stroke soon due to stress.
As our luck would have it, we now have to pay for over 82,000 gallons of water from a broken water pipe that no one knew was broken. In addition, we also have to pay for the piping to be replaced.
You may ask, “Why is this called Hope Against Homelessness?” Because of the heavy medical attention, emergencies, precautions, and supplies we must constantly have on hand, our family has fallen severely behind on our mortgage payments. We have put all that we have into our home, and are desperately trying to avoid foreclosure.
We need $5,000 to be able to get caught up on our mortgage, pay the attorney fees for the foreclosure, pay off our debt to the doctor’s office and hospitals, and afford the new water pipes. If we are unable to reach our entire goal, we will put what we have toward saving the house from foreclosure. If there are any remaining funds after that, we will put it toward paying off Aunt Bobby’s medical bills. If, by some way, we are able to exceed our goal, we plan to use the excess funds to donate to other families in situations resembling our own.
This campaign is valuable not only to myself or my family, but also to so many other families going through similar situations. Alzheimer’s has only recently begun to gain recognition on the federal scale, but it has already destroyed so many families, and will continue to do so. Alzheimer’s comes along with financial, medical, cultural, and religious stress, and it is hardest on the caregiver. This project would help to restore not only our hope, but also for others dealing with the terrible disease.
We are in desperate need of your donations, but if you simply cannot donate, I ask that you please spread the word. Even if you take just five seconds to upload this link to your Facebook or on Twitter, I would greatly appreciate it.
If you could donate that would mean a lot. If not, a signal boost?

In China, live animals such as turtles and fishes are sealed inside plastic pouches to be used as keychains. Exposed to harsh dyes, the animals soon suffocate and die. This is 100% legal and becoming increasingly popular. REBLOG to spread the word and put a stop to this cruel practice.
this is so wrong
oh my god
Why people do such things?
